As we wait for the blessed hope of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, we are so grateful for the Holy Spirit binding us together in worship, fellowship, and outreach throughout this past year – even in the midst of so many tough challenges that we have all encountered during the pandemic. Our good and sovereign God has been truly faithful in every way to our church family.
While we praise God for being able to meet together through our livestream worship services and Zoom gatherings, we have been eagerly and yet patiently waiting for the right time to resume our in-person meetings.
We sincerely appreciate your participation in our recent survey to gauge the readiness for outdoor worship and fellowship activities beginning in March. Along with reflecting a wide range of readiness to return for in-person ministry, many comments indicate a willingness to wait for things like being vaccinated and having children’s ministry available. We understand and respect the wide range of preferences and comfort levels within our church.
With the COVID-19 numbers now trending significantly in the right direction, the increasing number of individuals being vaccinated, and the strong desire for us to see one another, we are hopeful and trusting in God as we plan to reopen our church facility.
As we meet at church for worship and fellowship activities, we are implementing a registration process to ensure that there is adequate seating available (allowing for physical distancing). We will also have temperature checks and require facial coverings while we are on our church campus. In preparing to gather together again at Bread of Life, we want everyone to know four things.
First of all, we are continuing our livestream worship services (English Worship @ 9:15 am, Cantonese Worship @ 9:15 am, Mandarin Worship @ 11:15 am). So please keep on worshiping with us in this way and invite others to join our services.
Second, we will launch an in-person, outdoor English worship service on March 21 at 11:15 am in a covered tent on the east side of our parking lot (additional outdoor worship services for our different congregations may be added based on interest). This service will not be live-streamed. We plan to access our worship songs and message slides through our church app.
Third, we will allow for outdoor fellowship gatherings in our covered tent. To facilitate the large number of smaller groups within our church, we want to be flexible and considerate in our scheduling. Reservations are required with our administrative assistant, Margaret Chang.
Fourth, we will resume in-person, indoor worship gatherings in each of our main worship services in the near future. As we carefully and closely monitor the current COVID-19 situation here in our South Bay community, we are asking God for wisdom for the best time to resume in-person attendance for our three main worship services. We will announce this date two weeks prior to reopening our building.
With our hearts set on the imminent return of our Savior, we deeply treasure the ongoing opportunities to encourage one another toward love and good deeds – especially as we anticipate gathering together in person.
